TWO ARRESTED OVER ALLEGED MURDER OF MOTORCYLIST

Ogun State Police Command has arrested Patrick Udom (35) and James Roland (25) for allegedly killing their neighbor and bolted away with the victim’s Bajaj Motorcycle in Imodi-Mosan community of Ijebu Ode.

The Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi told Penpushing on Wednesday that the arrest followed a complaint by the elder brother of the victim one Moses Utuede who reported at Obanlende Divisional headquarter that his younger by name Happy Patrick left home around 7:00am of 15th of May 2018 and yet to return with his motorcycle.

He said, on the strength of the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Jaiye Richard detailed detectives to embark on full scale investigation in order to unravel the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of the victim.

Oyeyemi added that, investigation later revealed that the victim was last seen with Patrick Udom and he was promptly arrested and after a thorough investigation, the said Patrick Udom confessed to have killed the victim ably assisted by Roland James.

The Police spokesman said further that the victim who lives in the same community of Imodi-Imosan with them was killed because they wanted to steal his motorcycle which they actually did after killing their victim.

He said, the body of the deceased which was concealed in a sack and threw in a nearby bush has been recovered, adding that, also recovered from the suspects are the two cutlasses used to kill the deceased, one hammer and a digger.

Meanwhile the Commissioner of Police Ahmed Iliysasu has ordered that the case be transferred to Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence for discrete investigation and prosecution of the suspects.
